Koalas are so cute!

Hello my friends!

Today, I made a great meeting: I saw a koala!

I had never seen anything so cute! I've been dreaming of it since I came in Australia. I have already met Kangaroos but never again koala until today. So I am verry Happy !

The koala is an arboreal marsupial living in Australia forest. It measure between 60 and 85 centimetres, and it weighs between 4 and 14 kilos. Koalas living in cold areas are larger than those of warm areas. We can meet koalas between Queensland and Victoria.

The koala is recognized by its broad ears, its big nose and its small eyes. it's a noctural animal, so it is very difficult to see it!

The koala eats Euccalyptus leaves and never drinks water in its entire life!

It sleeps up 20 hours a day and lives about 13 yaers. Sadly, it was hunted extensively for its fur but now, it is protected.

Koalas are really so cute!

Koalas cling to tree branches.

Bye bye

Rain Forest a place out of the ordinary!

Hi everybody,

this afternoon, we went to visit Rainforest, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Rainforest, or Gondwana Rainforest, is a vast, forest-covered area of approximately 3,665 km² located near Queensland. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. This region is an essential role for our planet, since it is home to almost half of the world's animals and regulates the temperature of our Earth.

The rainforest region is known for its ideal temperatures, around 20 ° C on average. The climate is Mediterranean. I have never felt such a balanced climate

It has 5710 species of plants. When we walked in this one, we saw lots of beautiful bird species.

Unfortunately, the statue of these regions is in danger. Only 29.9% of them are protected.

Due to global warming, its spaces are becoming smaller and smaller.

If this area disappears, then:
• the level of the phreatic layers will drop
• the frequency of extreme events will increase
• the acidity levels of the oceans also.

It is still possible to act, to make the right choices!

Bye bye

My meeting with Ian Thorpe

Hi everybody,

today we met Ian Thorpe at the Olympic Pool in Sydney. For those who do not know him,  Ian Thorpe is a famous Australian swimmer, 5-time Olympic champion, 11-time gold medalist at the world championship and many others. Recognized for his athletic results and his generosity, he became in 2000 "Australian of the year" and medalist of the order of Ausralie. After his training, the Australian prodigy kindly accepted an interview with us:

-" Hi Ian

-Hi Paloma

-So you're one of the best swimmers in history, how did you start in this sport?

-To be honest, it started when my sister Christina was swimming. She was very talented and was even selected in the national team. I followed her everywhere, unfortunately I was allergic to chlorine and it was only at the age of 7 that I competed in my first race.

-It was the beginning of a great career...

-Yes of course, I was beyond my wildest dreams, but I made a lot of sacrifices.

-That is to say?

-In front of the TV we only see the finality of the sportsman but behind all that I gave up all my youth. I trained every day, even Sunday, hours and hours. I did not have a girlfriend during my youth, I did not drink a drop of alcohol, I never went out. My health took a hit too. Every day, my mother would massage me with cream because my skin was torn by chlorine. It was very difficult.

-Have you ever had regrets?

-No, of course not, I lived extraordinary things, met many people, traveling. No my life is really great.

-Thank you very much Ian!

-You're welcome!"

Bye bye
